Issues

  • The current runaway pace of development threatens our infrastructure. For instance, the Grandview Lid project is a financial drain that would worsen traffic congestion.

  • Far too many proposed development projects are designed at a scale that is frankly incompatible with our existing neighborhoods. Specifically, I oppose the construction of high-rise apartment buildings in residential neighborhoods such as Cornelia.

  • All city development projects should be compliant with existing building codes; variances and exceptions should be contingent upon demonstrated hardship.

  • Traffic congestion must be alleviated, most notably around 50th and France. Outsized developments that would increase traffic congestion must be curtailed.

  • In order to ensure that the council’s agenda aligns with neighborhood interests, the council itself must become more transparent and accountable.
