About Ron

My wife, Mindy, and I have lived in Edina for thirty years. We raised our three daughters here and sent them to Edina Public Schools. Our seven (soon to be eight) grandchildren either currently attend Edina schools or soon will. We love Edina; it is our home and we are heavily invested in its future.

I attended S.E. Mo. State University and Concordia University in St. Paul, majoring in Marketing Management. My professional career has been centered on real estate, spending over 30 years At Burnet Realty, Merrill Lynch Realty and Coldwell Banker Realty as a Managing Vice President. In that capacity, my responsibilities included personnel, oversight on contract negotiations, title insurance, mortgage placement and legal compliance with State and Federal regulations.

Our family owned senior housing initiative has provided me with extensive experience in providing neighborhoods with housing options that are sustainable and affordable, while remaining consistent with building codes and neighborhood interests. (Of note, when we developed the Woodbridge Cooperative of New Hope, we sought no concessions from local government and designed the project to be lower-density than the building codes would have allowed. In so doing, we ensured that our project was a benefit to the neighborhood rather than a burden.)

I have served the city of Edina in several capacities. I am a former president of Edina Fast Pitch. I coached Junior Olympic softball for many years, was a volunteer coach at Edina High School, and served as President of the Edina Athletic Boosters. Additionally, I chaired and served on the Board of Appeals and Equalization for six years. I am still competing in track and field, holding three age group State titles and enjoy skiing, boating, and family travel adventures.
